Derry Hill can be found just to the south of the A4, 3 miles to the east of Chippenham, 2 miles to the west of Calne. The village is located in the Calne-Without Parish, on land that was once part of the Bowood Estate, seat of the Marquis of Lansdowne.

Over the past 30 years the village has grown significantly as a phased housing development plan has been completed. The last phase, saw the village grow to about 400 houses. Despite this unprecedented growth we are still fortunate enough to be close to acres of woodland, and open spaces.

Derry Hill, whilst small, has been lucky enough to hold onto many of the essential facilities required in modern life, such as a pub, primary school, village hall, post office and church. We even have an historic Methodist chapel in village as well as the famous “Golden Gate” entrance to the Bowood Estate, which now serves as a grand entrance to the Bowood Golf Course.

There are many clubs which are run within the village; Youth and Badminton Club, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Art and Dance clubs, to name but a few.
